Discover some of the things you can do at your mountain park. Moon Mountain Open Space provides over 600 acres to explore nature. Visitors have the amazing opportunity to view wildlife in their natural habitat.
The facility features four CCC crafted shelters along the White Rock Rim Trail that offer spectacular views. Overnight parking for the Ozark Highlands Trail access is available onsite. A four-season recreation facility situated along a beautiful sweep of mountainside;with satellite facilities strung along a 7-mile stretch of the Connecticut River. Many cross-country skiing and snowshoeing opportunities area available in this area.
Residents will have a chance to tour the site and learn how to become involved with the planning for the future Marshall Mountain Recreation Area. Watch for trail use and type—some trails are one-way, bikes only. You are recreating on private property; respect property owners and neighbors.
There is no air conditioning; the stone lodge and cabins stay cool in the summer months. Heat is provided by wood burning stoves during the winter and firewood is provided. Guests should pack food, towels, pillows, blankets or sleeping bags, and all other necessary overnight supplies.
